Macaroni Pasta with Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Just a few days back I had my dinner at Pizza Hut with a wonderful bowtie pasta preparation with mushroom. With the thought of emulating that preparation or cooking something close to that in taste, I set about cooking pasta tonight. But in place of bowtie, I used macaroni pasta and added ingredients following the culinary instincts of my mind. The outcome turned out really mouth-watering and my hubby fondly savoured the whole plate.

Ingredients:

Macaroni 300 gm

1 cup of button mushroom (boiled and chopped)

1 medium sized onion (turned into paste)

1 tsp garlic paste

3 tbs fresh whipping cream

1 tsp nutmeg powder

1 tsp dried basil leaves

1 tsp cayenne pepper or red chilli powder

1 tsp black pepper powder

salt to taste

Olive oil for cooking

Method:

1) Boil the macaroni to soften and keep it aside.

2) Heat oil in a skillet and add onion paste. When onion starts changing color, add garlic paste, mushroom and the spices including nutmeg powder, black pepper powder and cayenne pepper. Mix well. Add 1/2 cup of water and bring it to a boil.

3) Now add dried basil leaves, cayenne pepper and salt. Add fresh whipping cream and stir the mixture well. Add 1/2 cup of water and bring the mixture to a boil.

4) When sauce will get thicker, add the macaroni and mix. Serve hot.
